PeakData Expands in Europe
With new operations in Basingstoke, Hants, UK

The company said it has already initiated projects in Belgium and the United Kingdom.
Leading PeakData Services market development and sales operations in the region is Brian Hicks. With more than 30 years experience in the IT industry, Hicks founded Channel Development Consulting Limited and previously held senior business development positions with Sun Microsystems and Storage Technology Corporation working across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Jerry Kelsey, another IT veteran, is technical director of PeakData’s operations in the region. He previously held technical leadership positions with Sun Microsystems, Storage Technology Corporation, and Network Systems.
The company’s regional headquarters are located in Basingstoke, Hants.
“Our mission is to mitigate the business risks associated with data, particularly at the often overlooked, but vulnerable stage when data has outlived its useful life,” said Glenn Jacobsen, vice president and general manager of PeakData Services.
“Organizations in every part of the world are facing similar challenges to lessen risk while meeting a myriad of existing and emerging regulatory and legal requirements. We have found that our technology and experience working on large-scale projects in the U.S. is a good foundation for expanding our services into Europe and beyond,” added Hicks.
Hicks said that the initial projects in Europe include disk destruction for a top-twenty European financial services and insurance firm and disk eradication for another financial services entity.
