Votigo Selected for Mozy Online Backup Video Contest
User-generated videos highlight the dangers of not backing up.

Mozy, by Decho Corporation, is an online backup service for both consumers and businesses. The My Computer Nightmare Video Contest is designed to promote the dangers of not backing up the data on your computer and the ease of Mozy’s service. To participate, consumers will create and upload their own computer nightmare video. The top-twenty videos determined by viewer vote, will be judged by a panel of experts with the winners receiving great prizing include a trip for two to Hawaii, a Mac Pro, Flip Video Camera and more.
"Last month our customers submitted scary computer disaster stories, and we realized there are hundreds of different ways that a computer can get destroyed," said David Robinson, vice president of Mozy marketing at Decho Corporation. "We are excited to see what consumers share and how their stories may spread via the organic, nature of this contest. We’re also thrilled to have Votigo as a partner. They bring a sophisticated technology platform and years of experience in social media to the table."
Votigo developed the My Computer Nightmare Video Contest on its social media platform to enable consumers and Mozy to connect in an interactive and engaging manner. The contest site was designed to match the look and feel of Mozy’s brand, while providing users easy-to-use tools to share videos and virally spread the nightmare videos. To encourage participation from users who may not have access to a video camera or the creativity to make their own video Mozy is running a concurrent sweepstakes, also powered by Votigo’s platform. To increase their chances of winning the sweepstakes users are encourage to return to the site daily to vote for their favorite entries and invite their friends to participate in the promotion.
Votigo handles official contest and sweepstakes rules, site development, and administration of the contest.
