John Shoemaker Board’s Director at Astute Networks

Astute Networks, Inc., provider of bladed storage solutions optimized for the most demanding applications on the edge of the network, today announced that John C. Shoemaker has been appointed to the Astute Networks board of directors.

Mr. Shoemaker has over three decades of experience in the high-technology industry. From 1990 to 2004, Mr. Shoemaker held various executive management positions at Sun Microsystems, Inc., and served most recently as executive vice president, computer systems until his retirement. From 1969 to 1990, Mr. Shoemaker served in various executive management positions at Xerox Corporation where his most recent position was senior vice president of worldwide marketing. Mr. Shoemaker received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Business from Hanover College, where he is currently on the board of trustees. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana University where he serves as a principal director for the Indiana University Foundation. He also serves as a member of the School of Business Dean’s Advisory Council and the Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Mr. Shoemaker is chairman of the board at SonicWALL, Inc. and also serves as director for Altera, Inc. and Extreme Networks, Inc.
