Orange’s Home Library which enables consumers to store, backup, enjoy and share their precious photos and other personal digital content anywhere, anytime and on any device, is based on Axentra’s HipServ home server software and services platform and LaCie’s Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices. Axentra and LaCie have partnered earlier this year to offer a fully customizable hardware and software solution for the service provider market.

The choice of HipServ as the software foundation for Orange’s HomeLibrary offering by France Telecom, one of most innovative and successful service providers, is a formidable validation that Axentra is leading the way when it comes to service provider home server platforms implementation” said Marc-Antoine Benglia, Chief Executive Officer of Axentra Corporation. “Axentra has been a pioneer of the home server segment for the past five years. All that expertise now helps service providers to bring a solid and proven solution to the market in record time”.

The number of broadband-enabled homes worldwide is growing exponentially, and service providers are looking for new and unique solutions to offer their customers in order to differentiate themselves from the competition. Axentra’s HipServ is a robust and secure platform which positions SPs at the center of the digital home and is now poised for rapid success in this fast growing market segment worldwide.

HipServ Home Server Software Platform key benefits:

  • Mainstream Design: It is a Consumer Electronics (CE) appliance that is significantly less expensive than PC solutions for SPs, OEMs and consumers; focused on ease of use;.
  • Robust and Modular: Built on Red Hat Linux Enterprise server architecture that provides a highly secure, services-enabled solution.
  •  Anytime, Anywhere Access: The HipServ enabled device is always on and users can access content from any connected device including Web-enabled mobile phones.

Comprehensive: Solution for digital photo shoebox, music jukebox, video server, connected digital home and remote access, with seamless integration for PCs and Macs. Supports all media standards including UPnP-AV, DLNA, WMC and iTunes.
