Bell Micro Becoming Distributor of ClusterScale
For its Load Balancer based on Dell hardware
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 29, 2008 at 3:22 pmClusterScale, in load balancing, open source, traffic management and database clustering, has signed a deal with value-added distributor, Bell Micro. Bell Micro will be providing the entire ClusterScale range, including the recently launched database mirror device, ClusterMirror, and its virtual load balancing appliance, ClusterLoad ESX VA, along with its range of traditional top-performance, high-availability load balancers: ClusterLoad Pegasys and ClusterLoad Nemasys.
Stephen Wilde, Sales Director for ClusterScale, comments on the deal: “ClusterScale was established at the beginning of this year and since this time our key focus has been to establish an international channel framework. We aim to be a 100 percent channel focused, unlike our sister organisation loadbalancer.org, which runs a direct sales model – so this is a big step to achieving this goal. Bell Micro has a huge network of resellers all over the world that we will seek to leverage to increase our presence in the market and establish ourselves as leaders in the field of high-availability, cost-effective load balancing and storage solutions. Having a distributor such as Bell Micro on side will provide an alternative route to market, dramatically increase our reseller base and improve our credibility in the market.”
ClusterScale currently has customers and resellers based across the world in Europe, North & South America and Asia, but up until this point it has not secured a major distributor. This deal will seek to widen the net even further, as Malcolm Turnbull, Technical Architect and Managing Director for ClusterScale, explains: “As all our technology is based on Dell Hardware, we have a support network in place that can handle global distribution. Bell Micro has a very well established international reputation in our sector and is an industry-recognised specialist in storage products. Therefore it is uniquely positioned to provide qualified, technical and application expertise to resellers wherever they are. This is of critical importance to us as a development company, as we pride ourselves on being able to put customers and resellers through to experts. Knowing that Bell Micro has the internal expertise to ensure that this level of service is maintained is a real comfort.”
ClusterScale launched in January 2008 and since this time it has expanded its existing product line of load balancers to include a virtual appliance, ClusterLoad ESX VA, and the new ClusterMirror database replication appliance, which is a first for the market. Constantly innovating, ClusterScale is a technology-driven organization, providing high-availability, cost-effective solutions to ensure continuous top performance for its customers’ networks and databases.
Ed Callacher, Networking Divisional Manager for Bell Micro, comments: “We are very happy to have signed this deal with ClusterScale, as we feel there is a real gap in the market for their products. ClusterScale provides companies with low-cost, top performance, high-availability load balancing. We are also very excited about the ClusterMirror product line, as the issue of storage is increasingly critical for many of our customers. Here we can see that once again ClusterScale is challenging the market to bring down costs and provide more choice for customers. They are a very interesting and innovative company to be working.”
