The iPhone will support secure, enterprise-class Internet communication by using tools such as IPSec VPN, VPN-1 and WPA2/802.11x. Using the new iPhone on the 3G network will enable Zmanda customers to:
- Activate enterprise-wide or MySQL backups anytime, anywhere
- Perform point-and-click restores right from their iPhones
- Receive up-to-the-minute backup reports via emails
- Easily manage backup operations via a calendar view of monthly backups
Amanda Enterprise and Zmanda Recovery Manager, both from Zmanda Inc., are open source backup and recovery solutions. Both solutions enable small and medium-size businesses to easily and affordably manage the critical task of backup and recovery of PC, server, data and email applications using open source standards.
"With Zmanda’s simple and secure Web management console, system and storage administrators can perform remote backup and recovery anytime and anywhere," said Ann Ruckstuhl, vice president and chief technology evangelist, Zmanda.
