Silver Peak and Brocade Partnering
To ensure ongoing product compatibility between WAN and SAN
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 30, 2008 at 1:17 pmSilver Peak Systems, Inc., a provider of scalable Wide Area Network (WAN) acceleration solutions, has joined Brocade’s Developer Program as a Select partner. In doing this, Silver Peak is committed to working with Brocade and other partners to ensure ongoing product compatibility and to create effective go-to-market tools for selling a joint Silver Peak/Brocade solution.
"We are pleased that Silver Peak has joined our Developer Program as a Select partner," said Tom Buiocchi, vice president of worldwide marketing at Brocade. "Storage Area Networks are being deployed worldwide at a rapid rate as a scalable, high performance networking foundation for storage environments. By working with leading WAN optimization solutions like Silver Peak, we are demonstrating a continued commitment to the stringent requirements of our SAN customers."
Silver Peak’s WAN acceleration solution is optimized to support large networks, delivering the best performance on high capacity WAN links and across many distributed enterprise locations. Silver Peak offers the industry’s premier solution for disk-based WAN deduplication — Network Memory — which reduces over 95 percent of WAN traffic and ensures LAN-like application performance across the WAN by eliminating the transfer of duplicate data. Network Memory works on all enterprise applications, regardless of transport protocol (TCP, UDP or proprietary) or latency requirements. As a result, Silver Peak is commonly used to accelerate a variety of business-critical applications, including real-time data replication, remote backup, Citrix, SQL, file, email, web, Voice over IP (VoIP) and streaming video.
"WAN acceleration is critical to data backup and recovery in today’s complex enterprise environment," said Chris Helfer, vice president of business development at Silver Peak. "To that end, Silver Peak is committed to working with leading SAN vendors, like Brocade, to ensure seamless product interoperability for faster backups and recovery across the WAN."
