10 to 25% Price Reductions on Sonnet Fusion SATA Storage Systems

Sonnet Technologies announced price reductions ranging from 10 to 25 percent for the company’s Fusion line of high-performance SATA storage solutions for professional content creation and editing. With the greatest reductions applied to Sonnet’s higher-capacity models, price cuts of up to $1,500 give storage system buyers the opportunity to get the maximum storage capacity for their money without compromising quality or performance.

Sonnet Fusion D800RAID

Available in 8TB, 6TB, and 4TB configurations, top-of-the-line Fusion D800RAID desktop and R800RAID rackmount 8-drive storage systems are designed for work environments in which performance and fault tolerance are critical. Featuring Sonnet’s powerful Intel processor-based PCIe RAID controller card, Fusion 800RAID storage systems can capture and play uncompressed 10-bit 1080 4:4:4 HD video without dropping frames while simultaneously protecting the data, yet are flexible enough to be configured for any workflow, supporting RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 10, and 50. The 8TB Fusion D800RAID’s price has been reduced from $6,995 to $5,495 for a savings of $1,500, and the rackmount R800RAID model’s price has also been reduced by $1,500. The 6TB and 4TB D800RAID/R800RAID models’ prices have been cut $1,000 and $500, respectively.

Connected via a single locking eSATA cable to a 4-port Sonnet Tempo SATA host controller installed in a Mac or Windows computer, a Fusion D500P’s drives can be accessed through its port multiplier at full speed, whether configured as RAID 0, 1, 10, or JBOD. With its drives configured as a RAID 0 striped set, a single Fusion D500P achieves 240MB/sec sustained transfers, fast enough to capture and play uncompressed 8-bit 720 HD. The 5TB Fusion D500P’s price has been reduced by $900 to $2,595, and the 3.7TB and 2.5TB models’ prices have been cut by $300 and $100, respectively.

Prices on Fusion D400Q and R400Q systems with drives have been reduced by as much as $800, and Sonnet is now selling D400Q and R400Q systems without drives for $699.95, each.
