New Plextor MediaX

Want to pause and record live TV? Play movies in full HD? Store content onto the hard disk or use as a standalone media jukebox? The latest Plextor MediaX does all of these with ease. It’s a well-engineered consumer device designed for entertainment – putting all your media files at your fingertips and making the link between your PC and TV easy.
 
The Plextor MediaX is designed for people with growing media collections who want to easily watch movies, photos and music in the comfort of their living room on their television, home cinema or Hi-Fi system without the complexity of wireless networking. The spacious Plextor MediaX will be available is two capacities: 1TB (model PX-MX1000L) and 500GB (PX-MX500L).

 PX-MX1000L

The Plextor MediaX is a standalone networked media player and recorder to easily share and access your music, pictures & movies from PC or TV. It comes with touchbuttons on the front of the device and a remote controller. In addition, using the supplied software, you can even edit your films from the comfort of your sofa.

Ultimate connectivity and optimum ease of use is what the Plextor MediaX is all about. Wth HDMI, SCARTs, Network (10/100Mbps), USB, Component video/audio and optical ports, all the bases are covered. At the unit’s heart is a high reliability hard disk and this is all housed in a cool looking, sturdy black case.

The Plextor MediaXplays all the latest video and audio formats, including DivX and XviD, and it comes with a USB 2.0 port and fast data transfer speed, making it a really high-performance device. It can be used as a standalone media jukebox, with an internal hard drive (500GB and 1000GB versions are available) to load content directly onto. This means there’s no need to have a PC or NAS device active on your network and any complexities caused by wireless communication are removed.

Availability
The Plextor MediaX PX-MX1000L and PX-MX500L will be available from June 2008 at Plextor’s network of dealers. They are covered by Plextor’s Fast Warranty Service (2-year warranty in the EU, Norway and Switzerland (Collect & Return); other countries 1-year carry-in).
