Mainline Information Systems to Acquire CompServ
Combined revenue of $800 million in 2008 for the two Floridian IBM partners
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 30, 2008 at 3:48 pmMainline Information Systems, an IBM Premier Business Partner, has signed a letter of intent to acquire CompServ, a systems integrator based in Tampa, Florida.
Both companies focus on delivering infrastructure solutions, such as business continuance, virtualization, security and IT optimization. As one of IBM’s largest partners, this acquisition will enable Mainline to provide even more technical services to its extensive customer base.
“Because Mainline is headquartered in Tallahassee, Florida, this acquisition allows us to extend our reach right in our own backyard,” says Rick Kearney, President and CEO of Mainline. “Florida was recently ranked by AeA as the fourth largest and eighth fastest growing ‘cyberstate’ in the nation, due to both the demand for solid technology solutions and the resources to meet those demands. The CompServ team brings a wealth of technical skills, enabling us to provide additional value to our customers, as we continue to be a part of the thriving technology solutions industry in the state.”
“With this transaction, we will be able to provide our customers with IBM’s complete product line, including the mainframe (System z) and high end storage – something we cannot offer today,” says Ed Parry, President of CompServ.
Both companies are privately held and will have a combined revenue of more than $800 million in 2008. This transaction is expected to close by June 30, 2008.
Founded in 1989, Mainline began by offering information technology solutions and consulting in the IBM midrange markets. Since then, it has become an IBM Premier Business Partner and global provider of information technology and business solutions with more than 600 employees nationwide.
Founded in 1998, CompServ is the largest locally based Solutions Integrator in the Tampa Bay area. In addition to being an IBM Premier Business Partner, CompServ provides IT solutions for customers in Networking and VOIP, Storage and Data Management, High Availability, Security and Physical Infrastructure. CompServ has 47 employees.
