HighPoint PCI RAID Controllers Integrated Into Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 and Later

Driver updates to support HighPoint’s entire family of RocketRAID 3000 series adapters have been merged into Linux kernel 2.6.25. Customers that are currently running RHEL5 with HighPoint’s add-on RocketRAID 3xxx driver modules can update to RHEL 5.2 with the built-in hptiop driver support, avoiding the additional step to rebuild and update the hptiop driver. HighPoint also provides open source driver support for earlier kernels.
Additionally, CentOS – the free Linux distribution based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and will also have the hptiop driver officially merged in CentOS 5.2.
The HighPoint RocketRAID 3000 Series of hardware RAID controllers include 4 and 8 port PCI-Express x8 models along with an 8 port PCI-X model. The PCI-Express series of hardware RAID controllers utilize Intel IOP341 (800MHz) processor making the RocketRAID 3000 series the fastest 4/8 port hardware RAID controllers for Linux.
