DataCore Teams With Egenera
For blade and software virtualization with Citrix XenServer
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 22, 2008 at 3:06 pmIn conjunction with the Citrix Synergy conference in Houston, DataCore Software announced that it will team with Egenera, a global leader in Infrastructure Virtualization, to jointly verify their solutions running in tandem on market-leading virtualization platforms such as Citrix XenServer. The companies have complementary solutions that together deliver the next generation of virtualization. The Egenera BladeFrame system and its Processing Area Network architecture enable enterprise datacenters to rapidly install, deploy and manage pools of network, storage and processing resources. DataCore SANmelody and SANsymphony virtual storage solutions are some of the first SAN solutions to be certified for XenServer in the Citrix Ready program and make it easy to provision, manage, optimize and protect storage resources infrastructure-wide.
“The combination of DataCore virtual storage and the Egenera BladeFrame system brings a new dimension of productivity and cost savings for large scale and mission critical customers. Together they will offer excellent value in performance, flexibility and investment protection,” said Kathy Yenke, vice president, Business Alliances Egenera. “We look forward to continued collaboration with DataCore to meet the requirements of our mutual customers worldwide.”
“IT staffs are tired of fighting with the complexities of traditional server and storage offerings and getting poor utilization for their trouble,” said James E. Price III, Vice President, Product and Channel Marketing, DataCore Software. “Egenera and DataCore will deliver a true server-storage virtualization solution that automatically optimizes utilization and workloads in new and existing infrastructures, while making it simple to provision both server and storage resources when and where needed.”
Customers around the world are simplifying datacenter infrastructure with Egenera solutions. “Our customers want infrastructure-wide flexibility, therefore it makes good sense to certify Egenera’s BladeFrame platform and DataCore’s industry-leading, storage virtualization software on the most trusted server virtualization platforms, such as Citrix XenServer,” added Yenke.
DataCore storage virtualization extends virtual infrastructure from the compute layer through the storage layer, providing dramatically improved storage utilization, flexibility and cost savings, together with fail-safe data protection and advanced caching performance. DataCore virtual storage solutions run on XenServer as well as VMware, Microsoft VS, Oracle VM, SUN VM, and Virtual Iron virtualization platforms, as well as Intel/AMD based hardware servers and blades.
