E-Discovery Alliance Between Attenex and StoredIQ
Bring together complementary technologies to streamline e-discovery process
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 28, 2008 at 3:59 pmAttenex Corp., an e-discovery software provider, and StoredIQ, a provider of enterprise-class Intelligent Information Management software, announced an alliance to provide enterprise customers with a combined offering of their complementary applications to reduce the cost, risk and time associated with e-discovery. Through the alliance, corporate legal and IT departments can ensure consistent and efficient e-discovery processes from identification through legal review in a repeatable, defensible manner. The joint solution provides measurable cost and time savings through an integrated workflow that scales to manage large volumes of electronically stored information (ESI).
“E-discovery is a complex process involving many different steps, and so corporations are eager to find applications that can help to streamline and improve the process,” said George Socha, president of Socha Consulting LLC and co-founder of the EDRM Project. “This partnership offers corporate legal and IT departments the opportunity to develop a repeatable process combining StoredIQ’s ability to identify, collect and preserve email and user files across a broad range of IT systems with market-leading processing, analysis and review software from Attenex.”
Corporate legal and IT departments benefit from a repeatable and more transparent e-discovery process, including:
- Efficient management of tasks across the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) using proven, enterprise-class e-discovery software currently employed by leading corporations and e-discovery providers
- Repeatable and predictable workflow for managing data from collection to review for investigations, early case assessments or response to electronic discovery requests
- Simplified e-discovery project management with complete audit trail of documents, attributes and actions throughout the e-discovery process
“The joint solution will speed up early case assessment efforts,” said Ed Pfromer, senior managing director at FTI Consulting. “FTI Consulting can assist our clients with using StoredIQ to identify potentially relevant information and then leverage Attenex to better assess risk and develop case strategy earlier in the discovery process.”
StoredIQ provides comprehensive eDiscovery solutions for companies that need to immediately react or proactively prepare for litigation or government investigations. Companies can quickly and easily deploy the appliance in-house to crawl and collect active data on their network servers, storage systems and personal computers without disrupting end users. StoredIQ’s intelligent collection methodology identifies, automatically collects and applies litigation holds on only the smallest, legally defensible data set, helping to ensure that organizations do not over-collect while at the same time avoiding the risk of spoliation or loss of good faith by the court. Using StoredIQ technology for topology mapping, classification and search, companies can rapidly target, collect and preserve potentially relevant documents, reducing legal risk while saving collection and preservation expense. In addition, StoredIQ’s legally defensible auditing system significantly contains the risk of process attacks.
Attenex Patterns E-Discovery Software is a top e-discovery software application for both law firms and corporations, according to the 2007 Socha-Gelbmann E-Discovery Survey. Attenex Patterns dramatically reduces the time and cost of the most expensive process within e-discovery: legal document review. Available on-premise, in a hosted environment managed by an Attenex Advantage partner, or in a custom combination tailored to the demands of the customer’s environment, Attenex Patterns enables in-house legal and IT teams to efficiently filter collected data and reduce the volume of data by up to 80 percent. These powerful filtering capabilities are combined with market-leading visual analytics that present legal review teams with a faster, more efficient and less costly method to review ESI for investigations and the development of case strategy.
As part of the agreement, StoredIQ has joined the Attenex Advantage Technology Partner program and Attenex has joined the StoredIQ Partner program.
