Highly Reliable Systems Introduces a Portable Backup Solution on HDDs Only
Using 2TB or 3TB RAID cartridges
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 2, 2008 at 2:53 pm
Highly Reliable Systems introduced RAIDFrame 1 Bay, a compact and economical answer for smaller
offices needing access to its powerful RAIDPac media.
The RAIDFrame 1
Bay system directly attaches to a fileserver or workstation using a
single, industry standard eSATA or USB cable. No software or special
hardware is necessary. All RAID functions are performed by hardware
in the media (RAIDPac). The RAIDFrame 1 bay allows office or
satellite offices to quickly access RAIDFrame media without the
expense and space of the 5 bay RAIDFrame system. The RAIDFrame 1 Bay is
also portable. So, using 3 TeraByte cartridges or 2
TeraByte RAID 5 cartridges is as easy as plugging in a USB cable. For
extra performance, eSATA is also supported without any configuration
changes necessary to switch between USB and eSATA. And, it is
recommend to use our controllers for maximum compatibility and
performance, the RAIDFrame 1 Bay’s eSATA port does not require a
Multi-drive aware eSATA port or a RAID functional eSATA card.
With RAIDFrame’s unique RAIDPac media, high capacity RAIDed
backups can be as portable as a USB hard drive. No software and no
special drivers are necessary to access RAIDPac data. With a single click and a pull, being able to hot swap an entire RAID 5
array and carry it away for off-site storage and installing another in
its place just as easily. It’s a removable piece of media which can
provide 2 TB of redundant storage or 3TB of RAID 0 storage.
SUPER SIZE Data storage
Up to three 1TB drives are supported in RAIDPac cartridges yielding a whopping 3 TB in a single RAIDPac cartridge for a RAID 0 configuration. Or 2TB in a RAID 5 configuration.
No RAID software
Because of the RAIDPac
cartridge’s unique in-line controller, there is no software, drivers or
any additional configuration required. Plug the RAIDFrame system into a
multi-drive capable eSATA controller. Like our
other High-Rely products, it is possible to use the RAIDFrame system with
most backup software, so no training is necessary.
-
No Administration
Like other High-Rely
products, the RAIDFrame system is directly attached, so it inherits the
security properties of the server or workstation it is attached to.
Unlike NAS units which are their own servers and often require seperate
configuration and administration. - FAST
Redundant RAID 5 backup can write up to 120 GB per hour in RAID 5 and faster in RAID 0. - Flexible
RAID 5 (redundant protection) and RAID 0 (speed and capacity) RAIDPac
cartrdiges are available. Each RAIDPac cartridge may contain two or
three standard SATA hard drives and can be configured in RAID 0, RAID 1
or RAID 5 RAID levels - Disaster Proof
Even if the entire RAIDFrame
system is destroyed, each RAIDPac cartridge’s data can be accessed by
any computer with industry standard power connections and SATA ports.
Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price: $981 without RAIDPacs
