Before Alcatel-Lucent, Phillips was Director of Enterprise Channel Marketing at Nortel Networks where he created and implemented the first global wireless channel sales strategy to drive $425 million in enterprise revenue annually.
Asigra has also appointed Jim A. Powers as Asigra’s Vice President of Government Systems to lead the company’s efforts in the federal market. Having garnered more than $1 billion in federal contracts, Powers brings proven experience in building profitable government sales organizations. Before EMC, Powers led the regular capture of multi-million dollar government contracts for Science Applications International Corporation, Alcatel-Lucent, Government Micro Resources (GMR) and AT&T.
“With several factors driving demand for Asigra’s enterprise information recovery platform including growth in IT outsourcing, Asigra sees tremendous opportunity to expand existing operations worldwide,” said Joseph Jeter. “As a leader in information recovery management, Asigra is capitalizing on its technological superiority to aggressively expand market share in this growing area of information technology.”
As Asigra asserts its position, its business direction will center on growth of the Company’s global sales organization. Currently, Asigra maintains offices in the United States and Germany, and has extended its reach to Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the Pacific Rim through channel partners. Asigra will leverage the experience and contacts of its newly enhanced management team to continue expansion in these regions which have demonstrated significant opportunities for growth over the past 12 months.
According to Tim Stammers, Storage Analyst for OVUM, a leading market research advisory services firm, "2008 promises to be breakout year for enterprise-class information recovery services as a growing number of enterprises outsource their backup processes.
