Brett Helsel Appointed Senior VP of Engineering at Isilon
And Paul Rutherford promoted CTO

Brett Helsel has joined Isilon as Senior Vice President of Engineering
to lead the company’s product development during a key period of growth
and ascendance of clustered storage as a next-generation storage
infrastructure in the enterprise. Prior to joining Isilon, Mr. Helsel
most recently served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
Lockdown Networks and previously served as Chief Technology Officer and
Senior Vice-President of Product Development at F5 Networks, where he
functioned as a part of the original management team that built the
company into the global leader in application delivery networking.
Isilon also announced that Paul Rutherford has been named
Isilon’s Chief Technology Officer and will play a key role in guiding
and evangelizing Isilon’s long-term technical vision and strategy. Mr.
Rutherford had been previously serving as Isilon’s Vice President of
Engineering. Prior to joining Isilon, Mr. Rutherford served as Chief
Technology Officer of Advanced Digital Information Corporation (ADIC).
Mr. Helsel most recently served as Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer of Lockdown Networks, a provider of network security products
and services. Prior to joining Lockdown, Helsel served as Chief
Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Product Development at
F5 Networks, where he was part of the core management team that took F5
Networks through its IPO, to become the global leader in application
delivery networking. Prior to joining F5 Networks, Helsel held
executive leadership positions at CyberSafe, Inc. and Wall Data. He
holds Bachelor of Science degrees in geophysics and oceanography from
the Florida Institute of Technology and is a graduate of the University
of Washington’s Executive Management Program.
