Sony Group Corporation, Tokyo, Japan, has been assigned a patent (12243571) developed by Oikawa; Sogo, Tokyo, Japan, for a “magnetic recording medium having a core part level difference.“
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “The present technology provides a magnetic recording medium of a tape form, including: a magnetic layer; and an underlayer, in which a core part level difference Rk is 5.5 nm or less in a bearing curve generated on the basis of height data of a magnetic layer-side surface acquired using an atomic force microscope, and an average thickness of the underlayer is 1.50 μm or less. In addition, the present technology also provides a tape cartridge including the magnetic recording medium of the tape form.”
The patent application was filed on 2022-03-17 (18/284215).
Magnetic recording medium and cartridge
Sony Group Corporation, Tokyo, Japan, has been assigned a patent (12243569) developed by Sekiguchi; Noboru, Kamoshita; Yuuko, and Yamaga; Minoru, Tokyo, Japan, for a “mMagnetic recording medium and cartridge.“
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “A magnetic recording medium is a magnetic recording medium having a tape shape and includes a substrate, an underlayer provided on the substrate, and a magnetic layer provided on the underlayer. The magnetic layer has a surface having an uneven shape, a height range ΔH obtained from statistical information of a height of the uneven shape is in a range of 4.00 nm≤ΔH≤10.00 nm, and a gradient range ΔA obtained from statistical information of a gradient of the uneven shape is in a range of 2.50 degrees≤ΔA.”
The patent application was filed on 2023-06-28 (18/215392).
