Xsight Labs E1 Software-Defined Accelerator for Cloud and Edge AI Data Centers

Enhances both security and efficiency, from cloud to core to edge, dual 400GbE network interfaces, and acceleration for RDMA, cryptography, networking and storage.

Xsight Labs Ltd. announced the tape-out of the E1, a 1st SoC in its SDN DPU (Software Defined Networking Data Processing Unit) product family of fully programmable network accelerators.

Xsight Labs E1 Intro

Built on TSMC’s advanced 5nm process technology, the E1 offers power efficiency and compute capabilities, setting a new standard in DPU SoC performance. The E1 SoC will be available to customers in early 2Q25 in multiple evaluation form factors, including PCIe Add-in Cards, 1U appliance and modular system backplane configurations.

Xsight Labs E1 Scheme1Designed for next-gen AI data centers
The E1’s design meets the growing demands of rapidly scaling data center infrastructure and advanced applications, particularly in AI and compute-intensive environments. As evolving AI and HPC workloads place significant strain on CPU resources and require high network throughput, the E1 is a solution, suited for initiatives like the Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC), reliable system interoperability, and running a high-performance software stack. It addresses scaling challenges by offering best-in-class software-defined networking, storage, and security acceleration. Purpose-built for multi-tenant, cloud-native environments, the
E1 delivers hardware-accelerated networking and management services at data-center scale, optimizing performance across the most demanding workloads.

Transforming cloud infrastructure for future
Modern cloud workloads are redefining hyperscale data center architectures,” said Yossi Meyouhas, CEO. “There is a critical need for processors that can offload and accelerate the massive compute demands of virtualization, networking, storage and security. The E1 SoC is designed to meet these challenges head-on, allowing data centers to scale effectively and support the increasing bandwidth and security demands driven by AI workloads.”

Security, performance, and scalability
The E1 redefines traditional network infrastructure by creating isolated and secure environments that authenticate every data center user. By offloading and isolating infrastructure services from business applications, the E1 enhances both security and efficiency – from cloud to core to edge. Dual 400GbE (800GbE) network interfaces deliver an unmatched total throughput of 800Gb/s. The E1 is powered by 64 ARM Neoverse N2 cores, advanced DDR5 interfaces, and cutting-edge acceleration for RDMA, cryptography, networking and storage. Additionally, the E1 supports 40 PCIe 5.0 lanes, providing industry-leading I/O throughput connectivity to host CPUs, SSDs, and other devices.
