History 2003: ManagedStorage International Acquired Roughly All Assets Related to Datavault Storage Services Business of SSP Sanrise
For $6 million
By Jean Jacques Maleval | October 11, 2023 at 2:00 pmManagedStorage International (MSI) acquired, for $6 million, roughly all the assets related to the Datavault storage services business of SSP Sanrise, following the latter’s liquidation in bankruptcy court.
The acquisition includes customers, storage infrastructure, and software in 24 data centers in USA, London, UK, Paris, France, and Tokyo, Japan, as well as personnel in USA and in London.
This brings MSI’s total storage centers to 45, making it probably one of the largest (and few remaining) SSPs in the world.
At the same time, the company completed $22 million in equity funding.
In recent months, EMC got its hands on much of the assets and IP of Sanrise’s software activity, while MSI has acquired certain StorageNetworks customers.
