This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 22, 2023 at 2:01 pmAsustor, Inc. announces the availability of its Xpanstor 4, a 4-bay expansion unit with USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C interface.
The Xpanstor 4 doubles connection speeds from 5Gb/s to 10Gb/s through its USB port and is also backward compatible with USB 3.2 Gen1. In addition, it supports MyArchive cold backup technology which supports scheduling to make 3-2-1 backups easier.
In terms of intelligent control, when a connected NAS enters sleep mode or shuts down, the Xpanstor 4 will simultaneously enter sleep mode and dim lights to save energy and hard drive longevity. The fan design also automatically adjusts speeds according to hard drive temperatures to maintain balance between performance and noise. In addition, the Xpanstor 4 also has a specially designed cable for securing it to the device to avoid accidental disconnecting of the device.
The Xpanstor 4 is equipped with 4 hot-swappable HDD bays, and can be used like any other drive in ADM NAS OS. Use it in a variety of ways that include using the extra bays as MyArchive backups or RAID volumes with the suite of the company’s data protection features to help user workflow as needs grow.
The Xpanstor 4 provides a 3-year warranty.
