History 2002: Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Name of New Company Uniting Hitachi’s HDD Activities

Following acquisition of IBM's HDD division

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies will be the name of the new company uniting Hitachi’s HDD activities, following the acquisition of IBM’s HDD division.

For the moment, no information has leaked out about the new roadmap being planned.

The Japanese firm seems to be keeping silent until they receive official approval from all countries involved in the transaction. Only Mexico has still to weigh in, after approval by Brazil, European Commission, Japan, Taiwan and finally USA and it Federal Trade Commission.
