Into secure cloud storage
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 14, 2023 at 2:01 pmAstran, a software company specializing in data security, raised $5 million in funding with Galion.Exe and Sistafund.
This round of financing will allow the company to continue to drive adoption of the next standard for secure cloud storage.
Eiffage, Sanofi and other public and private organizations have already adopted Astran’s solution for their confidential data. This threshold cryptography solution ensures data confidentiality, integrity and availability in a simple way (S3 compatible API), avoiding the complexity of encryption, which usually requires keys management and stacking several complex solutions.
“We need to store more and more data in the cloud, with increasing risks of cyber-attacks and data leakage. Astran protects our most vital financial and HR data while keeping it available at all times. And the most impressive thing is how quickly we implemented the Astran solution, in less than two weeks,” said Jean-Philippe Faure, chief of organization and information systems at Eiffage Group.
Sistafund and Galion.exe are joining Astran’s historical investors Newfund Capital and Founders Future, who are also reinvesting.
In addition to the co-founders, new board of directors will include Jean-Baptiste Rudelle, founder of Criteo and co-founder of Galion, and Tatiana Jama, managing partner of Sistafund.
“Astran brilliantly solves the strategic challenge of data security,” said Rudelle, “I was very impressed by the team’s quality of execution.”
“The storage of sensitive data is a major issue for companies but it is also a sovereignty issue. I am pleased to associate Sistafund with Astran’s trajectory, which promises to be exceptional,” adds Jama.
Astran will continue its development in France and internationally, with recruitments planned in the coming months, and strengthen its strategic partnerships with AWS, Azure, Google, Outscale, OVH, Salesforce and Scaleway.
Google selected Astran alongside 15 companies for its cybersecurity accelerator program, and 2 Astran founders recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to present the solution to the NIST as part of a selective French government program.
