The company has also formed a 4-year strategic partnership with lnria, the French National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology. This collaboration aims to develop a peer-to-peer cloud, addressing the complex mathematical and computer science challenges that arise in delivering predictable quality of service.

Next steps
In front of an assembly of journalists at a press conference in Paris, France, David Gurle, founder, and Antoine Clerget, CEO, talked about the genesis of the firm, the results achieved in its 1st year, and the next steps to be taken.

They also took the opportunity to announce the launch of HiveDisk’s premium plans this summer. The plans are designed to provide an affordable and sustainable cloud storage solution, offering an experience that is unlike any other player. HiveDisk will have 2 plans: a free plan with some generous storage, and a paid plan that will be available to all through a unique paying system: users can pay for the plan either by cash and/or by providing unused storage hard drive space from their devices. Subscriptions will be starting at 99 cents/ month for 50GB and will offer storage space up to 8TB.

With centralized solutions, users are products. At the company, users are part of a community. This is a more sustainable, secure, and affordable model compared to traditional cloud storage providers and is set to change the storage and computing market.

A fund raising target of €20 million by the end of 2023 was also announced.
