Atto and Xinnor Provide Performance Solution for NVMe Software RAID Storage with 27.5GB/s and 9GB/s RW Speeds in RAID-5

The solution combines Atto ExpressNVM NVMe Smart switch Host adapters with Xinnor Software RAID (xiRAID), creating a RAID solution for compute-intensive, high-performance systems. These 2 technologies, working together, provide an effective, reliable and secure way to deploy NVMe SSD while assuring data integrity.

xiRAID is a software RAID solution designed to take advantage of NVMe performance. It provides a high level of system design and management flexibility while keeping host resource utilization to a minimum.

ExpressNVM NVMe Smart Switch host adapters are a storage connectivity solution that adds scalability and flexibility to dense NVMe storage ecosystems. The solution was tested on a Dell PowerEdge server, where 8xNVMe SSDs were installed via PCIe Gen4 using the ExpressNVM adapter and sequential I/O was run across the RAID group. When using xiRAID in RAID-5 we were able to achieve 27.5GB/s in reads and 9GB/s in write.
