Had problems with design of one-inch HDD.

Halo Data Devices has shut down its operations.

The company had problems with the design of its one-inch HDD.

Additionally, it had trouble releasing a product at a competitive price, after the successive drops in the cost of IBM’s Microdrive.

Big Blue, Marqlin, a spin-off of Halo, and Ritek are the only other remaining players working on these miniature devices.
