Mike Cullen GM Remote Monitoring and Management Platform, N-able
One of MSP industry's founding executives
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 7, 2022 at 2:00 pmN-able Technologies Ltd. appointed one of the MSP industry’s founding executives Mike Cullen to GM of Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM).
In this new role, he extends his leadership across the organization, taking on responsibility for the strategic direction of firm’s RMM platforms and complementary portfolio while staying close to N-able’s Head Nerds, market development, and customer success teams.
With more than 3 decades of experience in the channel, Cullen is recognized for his vision, business skill, and natural ability to enable others and execute around key differentiators, including go-to-market strategies, growth maturity models, partner engagement, customer success, and ecosystem selling.
Prior to joining N-able (formerly SolarWinds MSP), he was VP sales (Ottawa Branch) and interim president of the Québec region for IKON Office Solutions, where he helped grow the business from $3.5 million to $25 million in 5 years. Previously, he co-founded Fulline Office Products and held the role of VP sales. He also previously held progressively senior sales management positions with Canon and Pitney Bowes.
N-able CEO John Pagliuca weighs in on the blue ocean opportunity ahead of N-able and its partners: “Build it and they will come isn’t how it’s done today. Our industry and business are grounded by trust, true partnership, and continuous collaboration. Cullen has been in this space for many years and is often referred to as the ‘Godfather of the MSP industry’ by our partners. By formalizing Cullen’s role and utilizing those years of knowledge, we are demonstrating our commitment to listening more and doing more to keep our MSPs the MVPs of the markets they serve now and, in the future. The channel’s influence is too valuable and the need for managing everything as a service is too great not to capitalize on it and go forward together.“
Pulling from his partner-led playbook, Cullen is calibrating the circle of influence around N-able’s innovation roadmap – introducing more partner-feedback loops directly into firm’s R&D, sales, and marketing teams.
“In the 10-plus years I have had the privilege of working with Mike Cullen at N-able, he has always instilled trust with his commitment to understanding our needs,” said Jimmy Puckett of SPINEN, a member of N-able’s Super Elite community. “Cullen has an amazing ability to see challenges and opportunities from the partners’ perspective. With such a deep grasp of our wants and priorities, Cullen knows where and how N-able can support our business. I am confident our partnership with N-able will grow even stronger with Cullen’s new role as he is a man of his word.”
One of Cullen’s first priorities is to align the firm’s portfolio more clearly and closely to the needs of new MSPs who may be managing single point solutions, as well as fast-growing and established MSP titans who are or want to deliver and manage everything as a service. As such, the appointment echoes the company’s commitment to continue investing in its RMM platforms. Recently launched, N-sight RMM combines RMM, Take Control, and MSP Manager to provide a complete, end-to-end solution to help MSPs start quickly and scale efficiently.
N-central is designed for larger MSPs looking to grow rapidly, allowing for standardization and orchestration at scale that provides customization, automation, deeper monitoring, smarter patching, and integration to help IT departments manage and secure their business.
“It’s the perfect role for Cullen and a prime opportunity for our entire team to synergize around our growth strategy and ensure all N-ablites have a shared vision of success: to enjoy the journey while making our partners the most successful MSPs on the planet,” says Kathleen Pai, chief people officer.
“For nearly 2 decades, N-able’s business and technology resources have followed the roadmap of helping MSPs establish, grow, and scale their business from managing point solutions to everything as a service across small, mid- and enterprise accounts,” says Cullen. “We want to show the market N-able’s people, processes, and technologies are the right fit for any MSP, anywhere in their journey. Our industry’s future is bright, and the time is now for N-able and our MSPs to scale operations-expanding our current book of business and simultaneously landing more business together.“
