History 2000: EMC Bought Terascape Software for $50 Million in Cash

EMC bought, for $50 million in cash, the privately-held Terascape Software, which offers solutions to improve performance for Oracle data base users.

The 2 companies already had mutual customers.

Among the initial investors in Terascape is Egan-Managed Capital. Several members of the Egan family have worked for EMC, including Dick Egan, founder and current chairman.
