Nidec: Fiscal 1Q22 Financial Results

Global net sales of Nidec Corp. in 1FQ22, ending June 30, 2022, increased 20.8% Y/Y to ¥540.4 billion, marking a record high on a quarterly basis.

All the manufacturers of components for HDDs (disk platters, heads, spindle motors, PCB, etc.) are completely depending on the market of HDDs, declining sharply since the beginning of the year.

Revenue  for spindle motors for HDDs

Net sales of spindle motors for HDDs, representing 3.9% of total sales, decreased 9.2% to ¥20.9 billion for 1FQ22 compared to the 1FQ21, and 5% Q/Q, mainly due to a decrease in the number of units sold.

They were down 4.6% to ¥20.9 billion for 1FQ22 compared to 4FQ21.
