AWS Backup for Amazon S3 enables to copy user Amazon S3 backups across AWS Regions and AWS accounts.

With backups of Amazon S3 in multiple AWS Regions, user can maintain separable, protected copies of backup data to help meet the compliance requirements for data protection and DR. In addition, backups across AWS accounts provide an additional layer of protection against inadvertent or unauthorized actions.

AWS Backup is a policy-based, fully managed, cost-effective solution that enables user to centralize and automate data protection across 15 AWS services (spanning compute, storage, and databases) and 3rd-party applications. Together with AWS Organizations, it enables user to centrally deploy policies to configure, manage, and govern data protection activity. User can use the AWS Backup console, API, or CLI to create copies of Amazon S3 backups across AWS Regions and accounts as part of backup plan schedule or on demand. Using AWS Organizations management account, user can designate accounts in AWS Organizations as secondary backup accounts, allowing backups to be copied only to trusted accounts.

The ability to copy Amazon S3 backups across AWS Regions and accounts is available in the following Regions: US East (Ohio), US East (North Virginia), US West (North California), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Osaka), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), Europe (Milan), Europe (Paris) and Europe (Stockholm) Regions.
