This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 8, 2022 at 2:00 pmPanzura LLC appointed David Wigglesworth as its new global VP sales.
He will be responsible for building and managing an expanding global sales team as the company continues to build on the success of its “refounding” in 2020, spearheaded by CEO Jill Stelfox and CRO Dan Waldschmidt.
In less than 2 years, the company has brought 7 products to market, more than doubled its annual recurring revenue and achieved a pace of growth 4x that of its competitors. By June 2023, the company is expecting to achieve $100 million ARR.
Wigglesworth joins the company with more than 3 decades of sales leadership, sales operations, and territory development experience, having served in senior leadership roles at EMC, OVH, VMware, and most recently, Commvault.
“Hiring David was a big decision for us, and one that we really took our time over,” said Dan Waldschmidt, CRO. “We had to dig deep to make sure the role went to the right person. We needed somebody that could look at the ambitious goals we’d set for ourselves and own them, keeping us on track the whole time. David brings to the table the heart and passion to run beside our team on the way to smashing through our revenue targets.“
Panzura’s announcement comes during a time when businesses are being forced to think differently about the cost of storage and importance data protection following a global shift toward remote and agile working. SaaS and hybrid-cloud secure data management are becoming the new standard, but businesses are still looking for ways to intelligently store and access unstructured data without compromising on security.
Waldschmidt continues: “As SaaS becomes mainstream and the value in moving away from traditional data centers becomes more apparent, we have a remarkable opportunity to transform a twenty-year-old industry. We can’t do that without world-class talent, and that’s what David brings to the table. His experience in shaping and coordinating global sales teams is unmatched, and we know his leadership will be crucial as we continue to expand our world class customer-focused sales organization.”
On his appointment, Wigglesworth commented: “I don’t think I could have chosen a more exciting time to be joining Panzura. The sheer spirit and ambition that exists within the company at the moment has created the perfect climate for sustained growth, and to have a hand in shaping the growth of such a company is a once-in-a-career opportunity for sure.“
“Go-to market strategies are like a three-legged stool,” he continued. “If any of those legs break, the stool falls over and the strategy fails. The first leg is technology, which is an area in which Panzura is excelling greatly. The second leg is people. You can have the best solution on the planet, but if you don’t have the right people to pitch and sell that solution to customers and channel partners, it’s not going to be a success. The third leg is to do with processes. You can have a great solution and great people, but you need a process in place so that success can be scaled-up, repeated, improved and sustained over long periods of time.”
The company is on target to add another 150 team members by the end of 2022 with opportunities in engineering, marketing, HR, finance, and sales.
