Seagate Technology has employed as many as 111,446 people.

This figure dates from the end of 1997, and has not stopped dropping.

The company now counts 83,384, or 28,062 fewer.

And this decrease will likely continue, with the transfer of its network and storage management group to Veritas, a transaction which should be finalized this month.

Note: Seagate currently employs around 40,000 employees.
