ISC: DDN Hybrid AI Storage Systems Enhanced

At ISC 2022, DDN (DataDirect Networks, Inc.) announced AI, DL and analytics software enhancements to its storage systems to help customers in their AI-driven digital transformation initiatives.

AI has become a strategic tool to drive business value, and organizations increasingly turn to the company for its expertise in architecting and deploying storage solutions, which simplify and accelerate AI data management at any scale. The firm’s 1FQ22 was its most successful in history and was driven by customer demand for scalable AI-enabled data storage systems. The firm sold 84% more AI systems in 1FQ22 than in the same quarter in 2021.

The software enhancements improve data security, performance, monitoring, and capacity per appliance. Its hybrid storage systems use next gen networking SAS4, which doubles both capacity and performance at an attractive price point. Customers can deploy up 900 HDDs and 16PB of data in a single rack behind firm‘s NVMe AI appliances.

The company also launched EXAScaler 6.1, a release of its parallel filesystem, delivering optimized AI integration and data security. Its Hot Pools and Hot Nodes features, both enabling flash performance into applications, can now be combined with end-to-end encryption.
