Showa Denko: FY21 Financial Results

In FY21 ended on December 31, Showa Denko K.K. recorded consolidated net sales of ¥1.419 billion or $12,342,508 million, up 45.8% Y/Y, with net income of ¥67.8 billion.

In its electronics segment, sales increased yearly 24.1%. Revenue and profit of HD media (figures not revealed) were up due to increase in shipment volumes for use in data centers and PCs.

The company started mass-production of MAMR media for Toshiba and contracts with Seagate for the same products.

It also expanded aluminum platter production capacity and improved productivity.

In 2022, it said it will increase sales, centering on media for large-capacity nearline servers as demand is increasing.
