Hoya Assigned Patent

Spacer and HDD

Hoya Corp., Tokyo, Japan, has been assigned a patent (11,238,895) developed by Takano, Masao, Akishima, Japan, for spacer and hard disk drive apparatus.

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “A ring-shaped spacer is to be arranged in contact with a magnetic disk in a hard disk drive apparatus. A maximum height surface roughness Rz of an outer circumferential edge surface of the spacer is at least 1.5 .mu.m, and the spacer is made of amorphous glass.
