Acronis Enhances Cyber Protect Cloud Platform With Security and Usability Capabilities

Acronis International GmbH released a set of enhanced capabilities for its all-in-one cyber protection platform for service providers.

These additions enable MSPs to deliver protection across a set of workloads while streamlining their own management processes, and represent the continued evolution of the platform in response to users’ real needs in a shifting IT landscape.

Cyber Protect Cloud + Advanced packs
Combining best-in-breed backup with next-gen cybersecurity and management, company’s Cyber Protect Cloud delivers protection for sensitive data, applications, and systems. As IT environments become more complex and cybercriminals adopt new tactics, the solution continues evolving faster to address growing protection demands.

These November 2021 update include features to optimize the infrastructure management for service providers, extend protection across more environments, and provide clients with a smoother data recovery experience:

• Improved usage reports make it easy to match usage metrics to their respective prices in the price list, and to hone in on the most relevant data points

• Additional backup and recovery options for VMWare Cloud Director backup operators to exercise more granular control over tenants’ data protection and ensure compliance with relevant data control policies

• Anti-malware and anti-ransomware protection support for Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 strengthens the resilience of clients’ IT environments

• Web installer for macOS simplifies provisioning by eliminating the need to download separate installers depending on whether the target system uses an Intel or Apple M1 CPU

Additionally, 2 of Cyber Protect Cloud’s optional advanced protection packs have been updated with new functionality:

• Off-host data processing (Advanced Backup pack) reduces demand on clients’ workloads by offloading backup replication, validation, retention and conversion operations to a VM. By converting backups into Scale Computing HC3 VMs, providers can boot from the VM to achieve near-zero RTOs.

• Logical volume (LVM) support (Advanced DR pack) extends Acronis’ DR capabilities to users’ physical and virtual Linux workloads

Cyber Files Cloud
Today’s workforce is more distributed, and remote collaboration support is a necessity. The cloud update includes usability improvements for Cyber Files Cloud, the firm‘s secure file sync-and-share solution designed for service providers. Uploading has been simplified with the introduction of drag-and-drop support directly into the web UI, while changes to how files and folders are displayed adds greater visibility for end users.

Integrations
The 2021 update also introduces usability improvements related to the company’ integrations with popular third-party tools:

• New Integrations tab in the Cyber Protect Cloud console provides one-click access to integration management

• Support for two-way quota sync between Cyber Protect Cloud and ConnectWise Manage automates the process of updating services and agreements

• Support for service name auto-creation within Autotask PSA reduces manual work and automates the process of mapping services
