Cloudian in Partnership With Asset Finance Group

Cloudian, Inc. is partnering with Asset Finance Group Ltd (AFG) in a consumption model financing program that provides customers with a public cloud-like payment option for on-premises private and hybrid cloud storage.

Enterprises and service providers can deploy Cloudian’s limitlessly scalable object storage platform without having to purchase anything up front, instead paying only for the capacity they use each month.

Like public cloud services, this consumption model program provides a pay-as-you-go approach in which costs are treated as Opex.

“Over the last year, we’ve seen increasing customer interest in consumption models, as they want the flexibility to purchase only what they need, as they need it, and avoid incurring capital expense,” said Chad Fredrick, EVP, AFG. “This can be particularly beneficial for storage deployments because organizations often find it difficult to predict how much future capacity they will need.“

While providing public cloud-like financing, Cloudian eliminates public cloud latency issues and data access charges, both of which can be significant when dealing with large data volumes. The company’s storage solutions also enable customers to maintain control of their data on-premises but still extend to the public cloud as desired, with the firm delivering data movement and management across environments.

“Through our partnership with AFG, we’re offering our industry-leading HyperStore object storage solution in pay-as-you-go plans starting at just 1.3 cents/GB/month,” said Jon Toor, CMO, Cloudian. “This is ideal for enterprises and service providers looking to align their storage capacity purchases and organizational needs more closely than traditional models allow.“
