History (1996): IBM Invests Half Billion Dollar in HDDs
To increase manufacturing volume of drives and components

The first of the capacity increases will come on-line later this year with total manufacturing volumes jumping 60% by 1998.
Expansion will include augmented volumes in San Jose (CA), Szekesfehervar (Hungary), Guadalajara (Mexico) and Singapore.
