Qnap Security Alert: Fight vs. AgeLocker Install Software Updates

Qnap Systems, Inc. issued a statement in response to recent reports and media coverage indicating that the AgeLocker malware is encrypting user data and demanding a ransom.

Current intelligence pointed out that AgeLocker-affected systems are mostly macOS and Linux devices, and firm’s initial investigation showed that no unpatched vulnerabilities are found in QTS NAS OS. All known affected NAS are running older, unpatched QTS  versions. The company is carrying out a thorough investigation by working with other information security entities to ensure the security of its products.
