R&D: Block Level De-Dupe and Security Using Convergent Encryption to Offer Proof of Verification

Cloud storage system uses various de-dupe schemes to drop redundancy.

Abstract: Cloud computing is a promising cutting-edge technology because of its cost-efficiency and flexibility to store and access the data. Preserving the data in cloud has become great challenge as the end users store their privacy data in daily life. But majority of the data in the cloud storage is redundant. Cloud storage providers (CSP) are using de duplication as the technique to maintain only one of the copy of the file, by which cloud storage providers are able to minimize the management and storage overheads for data. Data de-duplication is one the mechanism which enables us to store more information with less storage space. Cloud storage system uses various data de-duplication schemes to drop redundancy. In conventional encryption, the user will initially encrypt the information along with a key he chooses and send the cipher text to cloud storage.
