Trenton Systems Forthcoming 3U BAM Rugged Storage Server With Xeon SP BAM Board

8 storage drives, 6 SATA ports that allow customers to connect 6Gb/s storage devices, and 2 next-gen MiniSAS HD ports for up to 12Gb/s connections

Trenton Systems, Inc. announced the high-speed storage options and configurations that will be available for the forthcoming 3U BAM rugged server, which will incorporate the company’s high-powered, next-gen Xeon SP BAM motherboard.

The 3U BAM server is scheduled for release in early 2021 and will support the latest storage standards, allowing customers to connect fast storage devices and reap all sorts of in-system benefits, including a marked improvement in application start and load times.

One of our design goals for the BAM product line was giving customers as much flexibility as possible,” said Michael Bowling, CEO. “It is truly unique how agnostic and nimble the electrical, mechanical and BIOS design is. The BAM motherboard and chassis can be configured to fit almost any compute requirement across a wide array of markets while being the most cost-effective dual Xeon product Trenton has ever designed.

Trenton Bam 3u Scheme

Regarding high-speed storage, BAM server includes:

  • 6 SATA ports that allow customers to connect 6Gb storage devices

  • 2 next-gen MiniSAS HD ports for up to 12Gb connections

BAM also features customizable front-access drive bay options. The standard iteration includes:

  • 1 optical disc drive

  • 2×3.5-inch drive bays with up to 5 SATA SSDs in total

Customers may also choose one of following customizations:

  • 1 optical disc drive

  • 1×3.5-inch drive bay with up to 2 MiniSAS NVMe SSDs

  • 1×3.5-inch drive bay with up to three SATA SSDs

  • 5 storage drives in total

  • OR

  • 1×3.5-inch drive bay with up to 2 MiniSAS NVMe SSDs

  • 2×3.5-inch drive bays with up to 3 SATA SSDs each

  • 8 storage drives in total

The BAM is also capable of supporting Intel Optane storage.

The 3U BAM Server provides flexibility and scalability with various storage form factors,” said Yazz Krdzalic, director, marketing and business development. “From standard SATA drives to NVMe SSDs and even the latest Intel Optane drives, you get to pick what part of your application utilizes which technology. You’re not locked into one or the other. That’s a huge plus for our customers across the military and industrial sectors.
