Organizations using Azure to spin up cloud resources will have an automated way to isolate assets not being backed up.

The Azure Protection Analysis Report works by reviewing Azure assets and evaluating their last backup date, a reflection of their most recent snapshot time stamp. Using the report’s filtering criteria, users can select resources designated as ‘unprotected,’ clearly identifying those with no recent backups that likely need to be assigned a backup policy. Through built-in customizations, the report can be further filtered to isolate specific backup environment segments, time periods, and other elements, simplifying Azure backup oversight.

According to Matt Hall, leader, enterprise sales, this report broadens the firm’s coverage of asset protection reporting: “We’ve seen rapid adoption of our CMDB, VM and AWS Analysis Reports by both our enterprise IT and global MSP customers, showing us the need organizations have for centralized oversight of their assets’ backup protection policies. With this latest report, organizations using or considering Azure Backup, or developing multi-cloud backup architectures, will enjoy the same level of backup policy oversight and protections that are currently in place for AWS and VMs.

The Azure Protection Analysis Report is available in Bocada 20.2.5.
