Wasabi and Arcserve Partnering

For centralized management of data protection and tape to cloud backup

Wasabi Technologies, Inc. validated interoperability with multiple platforms from Arcserve LLC.

Arcserve customers can take advantage of Wasabi’s improved economics and performance while saving 80% over AWS with no fees for egress or API requests. Together, they deliver an affordable and efficient cloud backup solution that empowers rapid restore and retrieval of data for BC.

Wasabi offers one product: tier-free cloud storage with predictable and straightforward pricing that supports any application running the S3 API (the de facto standard for storage apps). Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP) is a data protection tool with a single interface. Users can monitor all backup activities, track volume, and manage data operations across all of their devices. This joint solution allows rapid data restore or retrieval without any fees for egress or API requests.

Arcserve Backup offers a centralized, streamlined alternative for tape backup. Magnetic tape has been a data center staple for decades for computer backups and storing films because of its low cost and excellent physical durability. However, it’s becoming obsolete due to the slow rate of retrieval that makes it incompatible with the modern digital world and because the TCO of tape rises rapidly as more data is stored on it.

The cost of managing assets on tape is growing faster than ever,” shares David Friend, CEO, Wasabi. “With more data being created in the last two years than the entirety of human history, it is spread across a myriad of systems and applications that span the globe. Itss greatest challenge is to manage it all securely and efficiently. Arcserve is a trusted data protection solution and therefore the perfect partner to fulfill this need. With Arcserve, users can monitor all of their backup activities in one place helping them manage vast amounts of data while storing it safely with Wasabi.

Companies looking for all-in-one backup, DR and cybersecurity can leverage Arcserve’s Appliance Series with threat prevention technologies, redundant hardware and cloud services. The appliances combine flash-accelerated de duplicated storage, server processing and high-speed networking. The appliance data can be replicated to Wasabi’s cloud over WAN for increased redundancy and protection and can be accessed for granular restore or DR purposes without fear of accruing egress charges. Together, the two partners deliver a whole solution with a central interface for backup and security processes, tools and infrastructure that removes the complexities of discrete components.

We are very pleased to partner with Wasabi in offering a clear path to hybrid cloud, particularly in an unprecedented era where workers are largely remote and central management of backup and disaster recovery is more critical than ever,” said Clark Brown, VP of channel sales and strategic alliances, Arcserve. “Together, Arcserve and Wasabi offer an ideal solution to cost-effectively close data loss gaps and protect the entire infrastructure.

Arcserve with Wasabi is available for a free 30-day trial.
