Qsan Adds WD Ultrastar Data102 Hybrid Platform

Qsan Technology, Inc. extends its technology partnership with Western Digital Corp. to support the Ultrastar Data102 hybrid storage platform, which is a redundant hybrid 4U JBOD disk enclosure, as an low density expansion solution of its XCubeSAN series storage.

The Ultrastar Data102 supports up to 102 HDDs, as well as hybrid support with up to 24 SSDs for a data acceleration tier. By connecting up to 4 expansion units with Ultrastar Data102, XCubeSAN will reach up to 6.1PB of raw storage in a 18U rack space, providing flexibility to specify the HDD and SSD combinations to balance capacity, performance, and cost.
