Koichi Ishii Japan Country Manager, Rubrik

Rubrik, Inc. appointed Koichi Ishii as Japan country manager.

Reporting to Kamal Brar, VP of AsiaPac and Japan, he will be responsible for expanding the Japanese market.

“Ishii’s vast experience in creating and scaling a channel ecosystem, coupled with his deep knowledge of the enterprise, will accelerate the time to value for customers and partners in enabling their cloud deployments,” said Brar.

Rubrik is redefining the $48 billion cloud data management market, which continues to grow in Japan as more and more customers decide to maximize their investments with cloud native platforms. Rubrik’s technology, paired with Ishii’s leadership, will be key to expansion in Japan.

“I have been involved in launching and accelerating partner business at several global companies, and I’m excited to be joining the Rubrik team,” said Ishii. “In Japan, our focus will continue to be providing key value for customers through robust relationships with domestic partners as they execute digital transformations.”

Ishii’s most recent role was regional VP at Tanium LLC, where he led the partner and enterprise business and contributed to the overall growth of Tanium in Japan. He also formerly served as executive officer and GM at VMware, where he oversaw business expansion in the commercial segment, contributing to company and partner success in Japan.

Rubrik has made progress in Asia this year, extending its leadership and investment across international enterprise markets. Between the establishment of an APAC HQs in Singapore and the appointment of Ishii, the company has taken strides to build its network in Asia, increasing sales and resources in key markets.
