IBM Elastic Storage Server (ESS), the scalable, high-performance data and file management solution, is expanding its models and adding upgrade paths between models.
ESS V5.3.5 offers:
- New GL3S and GL3C models
- New support for RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE)
- New model upgrade paths for GLxS and GLxC models
New ESS model upgrades:
The minimum memory in the data servers is 256GB, except for GL8C, which is 512GB. All additional storage must be at the same capacity drives as the existing model.

- IBM Spectrum Scale for IBM ESS
- IBM Select Support for xCAT
