IBC: ProMAX Systems Adds SSDs to MediaHub System
For improved speed
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 16, 2019 at 2:28 pmProMAX Systems, Inc. has made a push to make SSD storage the standard for video professionals.
MediaHub
The company’s mission is to provide video teams with video storage they can have without breaking the bank. SSDs, which utilizes flash storage, provide faster performance, durability and recoverability than HDDs. HDD storage reads and writes data with moving parts which leads to slower performance and is more prone to damage and complete data loss than SSD drive.
The majority of the video industry has relied on HDD’s because of the cost for SSD storage. Improvements in technology have made the cost of SSD storage much more affordable, opening the door for video professionals to get the storage they actually need to handle high resolution footage.
“There are so many performance benefits with SSDs in shared environments,” said Nathaniel Cooper, COO, ProMAX. “We’ve offered SSD based products for a few years, but we have finally been able to get them into a price range where it is what the majority of our clients are getting. It’s a huge win for our customers.“
