History (1995): Mike Brown CEO of Quantum

Replacing Bill Miller

Rather than hire outside the company, Quantum (Milpitas, CA) has found its new CEO from within its own ranks.

Brown HistoryMichael A. Brown was promoted to this position, replacing Bill Miller who resigned last August. Stephen Berkley will remain as COB.

 

 

Brown, 37, was most recently president of the desktop and portable storage business group (DPSG) which represents approximately 70% of the company’s revenues. He joined Quantum in August 1984 as product manager and was named product marketing manager in 1987, developing business plans for the firm’s entry in the 3.5-inch market. He was promoted to director of product marketing in 1989, VP marketing in 1990, then EVP in 1992. Before joining Quantum, he served 2 years as a research associate at Braxon Associates, a strategic planning consulting firm.
