More than half outside of Europe
By Jean Jacques Maleval | July 30, 2019 at 2:28 pmAccording to Gigatape GmbH (Puchheim, West Germany), with HQs in Germany and subsidiaries GigaTrend (Santa Barbara, CA), Gigatape (Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France) and Gigatape (Kent, UK) delivered over 2,000 DAT systems and more than half outside of Europe.
Among its customers, Gigatape named Unisys and NCR in OEMs, Racet, Jasmine and Kronton for system integrators. In Europe, the distributors of GIGA 1230 are: in France, GFS Ingenierie and Mastter for Macintosh environment, TOP-LOG for SCO Xenix systems, Morphodis for IBM 6150 environment, Logicom for Novell network or Prologue systems, Logicom for Sun workstations and Tekelec for system integrators; in Switzerland, CCP (PC, mini and mainframe local networks) distributes Gigatape and is located in Lausanne and Zurich; in Italy, the main distributor is Telcom in Milan; in Spain, Omnilogic and Microtel are distributors for Apple environment in Madrid, and Intertec for Unisys in Barcelona: in Belgium, Walset distributes the units for Compaq and HP computers, and BIM for Sun workstations; in Netherlands, Ormas, a micro- and mini-computer product distributor, represents Gigatape.
