VMworld: Asigra Unveils OPEX Backup Appliance Integrated With Zadara Enterprise SaaS

Asigra Inc. announced its Cloud OpEX Backup Appliance which will be shown for the first time at the 2019 VMworld conference.

In partnership with Zadara Storage Inc., the backup solution combines Asigra cloud backup V14 software with the Zadara cloud storage platform, using industry-standard hardware and patented Zadara software to deliver enterprise speed, security, and scalability.

The Asigra Cloud OpEx backup appliance is a virtual backup solution that integrates Asigra cloud backup software version 14 with the Zadara software-defined cloud storage platform available exclusively as a consumption-based service.

The solution can be deployed on premises, at a colocation facility or in the public cloud and converges data protection and cyber-security to counter malware attacks on backup data, including ransomware Attack-Loops. With extensive automation, the Asigra Cloud OpEX backup appliance allows IT and backup administrators to safeguard business data using the solution’s powerful features, intuitive console that simplifies managed backup, and subscription-based pricing model to temper the costs of backup and recovery.

The Zadara Cloud platform uses a combination of industry-standard hardware and patented Zadara software to create a virtualized storage resource abstraction layer with both enterprise functionality and cloud convenience. Combined with Asigra software, the solution allows administrators to operate in confidence and work with any data type or protocol across multi-location distributed IT environments. The Asigra OPEX Backup Appliance is available through authorized partners and will be shown for the first time at VMworld on Asigra and Zadara booths. Pricing starts at pennies per gigabyte per month for a virtual appliance configured with 30TB of storage and the ability to scale to multiple petabytes.
