Verbatim Reveals Fingerprint Secure HDD With 256-Bit Encryption

Verbatim Fingerprint Secure HDD uses a combination of AES 256-bit hardware encryption and biometric technology to encrypt all data on the drive in real-time ensuring that any data saved on it is safe from unauthorised access if ever lost or stolen.

The external HDD is compliant with GDPR requirements as the drive is securely encrypted.

The built-in fingerprint recognition system in the Verbatim HDD allows access for up to 8 authorised users and one administrator. Once set up, users can lock and unlock the device in seconds by using their registered fingerprint. The HDD does not store passwords in the computer or system’s volatile memory making it more secure than software encryption.

Connectivity
After setting up the fingerprints using a Windows PC, the Verbatim Fingerprint Secure HDD can be used on both PC and Mac OSs.  The drive has a USB 3.1 GEN 1 interface with USB-C connection for fast data transfer speeds and the pack includes a USB-C to USB-A cable as well as a USB-C adapter for connection to a range of devices. It can also be connected to TVs once a fingerprint is registered, a feature not possible with regular encrypted HDDs.

For added security, Nero Backup software for Windows is provided to help users backup all files, folders, and drives from laptops or PCs as well as schedule auto backup to a set time and day to ensure that it gets done regularly.
